The 2008 delinquent property tax bill will be for sale by the Rockcastle County Sheriff at the Rockcastle Courthouse on May 7, 2009 at 10:00 a.m.

Offers to purchase these bills can be submitted in writing beginning on April 1, 2009 and must be received in this office by May 7, 2009. Offers to purchase can also be made in person on the date and time shown above. Offers should be mailed to Rockcastle Co. Sheriff Mike Peters, 205 East Main Street, Box 2., Mt. Vernon, KY 40456.
The private purchaser of a delinquent tax bill will be issued a Cerificate of Delinquency which represents a lien upon the real estate descibed on the face of the tax bill. Interest, at the rate of 12% per annum, accrues upon this certificate from the date of issuance.
